HI ALL,
I am installing SAP NW 7.4 as a distributed system installtion ( application server one box & datbase in on e box).
I have completed the first step in apllictaion server box i.e ASCS installtion.
Now I came to the databsee server box (alredy installed mssql server ) started DB instance installtion .
Now the issue is after strating the database insatnce in the intila step in sapinst it self I am facing below error :
"An error occured while processing option sap nw 7.4 sr1 --->ms sql server-->sap systems->apllication server abap-->distributed system --->datbase instance last error:Path componnets reserved charcter ("), "
In the log file error :
FSL-02106 Path contains reserved character ('<'): \\?\GLOBALROOT\Device\RsFx0200\<localmachine>\MSSQLSERVER
FSL-06002 Error 1060 (The specified service does not exist as an installed service.
Path component contains reserved character ('<'): <localmachine>
Pleae suggest how we will reolve the issue
Advance Thanks
Hi Sap Basis,
1.open the registry (cmd ->regedit)
2.search <localmachine>
3.del angle brackets "<"">",left localmachine
4.keep searching until fix all errors
5 restart the install program
Hope this helps.

Deepak Kori

Hello,
It looks like problem with registry value. Could you please check if some registry value contains '<' character.
Thanks,
Sunny
