New profile parameters added automatically after export / import and activating

Hi All,

We completed the DB export import successfully. After activating the parameters, found few new parameters added with its default value automatically in the Instance profile. Performed the below post activity steps.

1. Replaced the profile with the old one that was backed up before the DB export and import. Performed Import profiles of active servers.

(now the requirement to increase the background work process so)

2. Created new operation mode.

3. Increased the background work process from "0" to "3" in Rz04 to avoid the down time. <activated>

The the number of background job changed successfully. But, we also noticed that more new parameters are added automatically as shown below: Value of the new parameters have been set to default value.

rsdb/ntab/ftabsize = 30003

#parameter created                         

rsdb/ntab/irbdsize = 6001

#parameter created       

rsdb/ntab/sntabsize = 3000

#parameter created       

DIR_ROLL = \\data

#parameter created       

DIR_PAGING = ....0\data

#parameter created

DIR_REORG = ...<edited>...\data

#parameter created       

DIR_TEMP = .

#parameter created 

DIR_SORTTMP =....<edited>\data

#parameter created 

install/codepage/appl_server = 4103

Please share your thought on new parameters automatically being added....

Hi Buster,

During target system built SAP installer will create SAP profiles based on the inputs provided during the setup and available system resources.

It is a good practice to review these parameters before you replace them with older values.

Don't replace the profile Just compare the both profiles (Old & new profiles), Update the new profile

2. Created new operation mode.
3. Increased the background work process from "0" to "3" in Rz04 to avoid the down time. <activated>

Point number  2 & 3 are post system copy task. based on you requirement you can define.
