SAP JVM 6.1 claritification

Former Member

I'm about to start a NW 7.4 installation and building my installation Kit.

I downloaded SAP JVM 6.1 but I read some threads that people are saying SAPINST or SWPM takes care of the JVM installtion now?

So its not a manual step on our part.

I don't remember this being the case. I did a search on the installation guide for NW7.4 for SAP JVM and founf nothing.

Can someone clarify?

Hi Joshua,

When using SWPM, SAPJVM gets installed automatically. You do not need to install this manually.

Hope this helps.

Hi Joshua,

SWPM will take care of this now.

All new installations are done with the SAP JVM.

Manual step comes only when the system was set up with a vendor JVM and you want to switch to SAP JVM

Hi Joshua,

is correct, as always...

The auto-install makes things a lot simpler..
