Add columns in excel datasource - columns will not be displayed

Hello,

I have add two columns in the excel sheet. The excel sheet is the datasource for my Lumira reports.

When I push the Button "Reload" Lumira reloaded but it doesn't displayed the new columns.

When I push the Button "New Data" I can choose my excel sheet with the added columns but all my visualizations are empty. And I must create all visualizations new.

I use Lumira Version 1.15.

Have you got a workaround??

Thanks.

Sorry, this is not my experience!

All i had to do was: Data > Edit > Select +2 columns (see screenshot)  - then Next

everything stays fine afterwards, i didn't need to recreate my visualisations

Regards,

H

Hello,

I have try the steps from Henry an Tammy. But it doesn't works.

1. I had create Lumira Reports with different visualizations :

2. Now I want to add the column "AE Nav" in my Excel sheet "Test_Vertrieb.xls".

3. I save the excel sheet with the column "AE Nav" and I want to refresh my Lumira reports:

But I don't see my new column.

I try to refresh the connection , but it doesn't works.

Hi Susan,

I checked it and for me it works.

So just a quick check if we are REALLY doing the same:

1) I have a excel workbook (xlsx) locally

2) I created a new lumira document

3) 1 key figure is there, I added that to the document

4) saved the document locally

5) I closed Lumira

6) I opened my workbook again and added a additional column "Revenue" with some data. I saved the workbook (no new document, same document)

7) I opened my  Lumira document (not the data set)

😎 I opened the dialog "Data" -> "Edit"

9) I can see one new column which is not checked yet

10) I checked it, now I can use it.

Is there any difference from your case?

Regards

Thorsten

Susan:

Could you please share your screen shot from the step that Henry shows above:

This is where I see the additional columns

Hello Tammy,

Ok, I try to create a step by step description.

In this excel sheet I have added two columns

Then I choose my created Lumira Report. Then I reloaded the data but the columns are
not displayed

When I select “New Data”, the Data were displayed.

But my visualizations are empty. Now I must create all visualization new.

You don't need to "add new data" and you don't need to "refresh"

as my post shows, you simply need to "Edit" -> select columns.. then continue in the Prepare room.

Yes Susan - Henry is right, in Prepare just go to Data > Edit and select the new column and it should display

Hi,

I try it, but it doesn't works. My new columns were not displayed and so I can't continue in the prepare room.

Can you post the screen shot of Data > Edit and how it looks?

I don't understand why your grid looks incomplete (missing rows)?  the display doesn't look right, like you've appended sparse data ?

i guess if you corrupt the local dataset, this could destroy the dependent visualisations

Susan, have you followed the steps by Henry and Tammy?

Did this resolve your issues?

To clarify did you add these columns in Excel or add them in Lumira through calculations?

Can you use the camera for screen shots to show more information?
