Hello

1) you can monitor the apply lag and check for apply gap

V$DATAGUARD_STATS, V$ARCHIVE_DEST_STATUS

3) Broker is not really a choice/option but more a facilitator that makes DG management easier.

Hi

Thanks for reply

We have configured the dataguard broker but faced unique problem during the switchover. The both database is in mount stage as physical standby. The doubt was on network problem. Pl let me know if network is not very stable even thougth can we go ahead for dataguard broker.

Hello

This is not a matter of DG broker... what's the use of trying to achieve data protection through replication over an unsound network ?

Stable network is a kind of pre-requisite !

Hi Vimal,

I have worked with atleast 5 customers in India who are using Oracle dataguard for DR.

No issues reported and it is very stable.

Hello

What Yves said is the answer to your question. There is no point in checking whether Oracle Data Guard is a stable and reliable solution. If you do not have a stable network between the physical and the standby sites then Data Guard will have issues during the replication. The customer base for Oracle Data Guard is big whether it is for Oracle with SAP or for Oracle with other applications.
