Install SAP with new license

Hi,

Our company going to start a new company and we have to copy data to the new server.I know for that we have to have same patches level. My question is that whether i can install SAP on new server with my old CD's and can i use new license for that?.

Hi Sam,

For any new SAP system whether you install fresh or copy from source system you need to install new SAP license. SAP license is based on hardware key generated from the server.

As your new SAP system will be on different hardware, hardware key will be different.

Yes, You can install the new system. You may require to apply the new license form SAP Service market place

Can you tell me what do you mean by old CD's....ie Which SAP Version?

Yes you can use new license....i mean u have to add this new server in Solman in order to get license for that..
