Average processing ime for Update

Hi All,

Today i was checking response time of my server & i seen update WP has taken around 17 sec (17804ms) for single step. I have checked there RFC/CPIC, wait ,load,DB request time etc & all are less than 500 ms. CPU time also 30 Ms only.

Average processing time is 17.4 sec (17407 ms) . I have checked CPU utilization of DB server & did not find more than 20 % utilization during this particular time frame.

Can anyone please help me to understand why avg processing time too high for update work process.

System Enviornment

SAP ECC6 ehp 4, Oracle 11.3, application on Linux & DB is on solaris.

Thanks for for you reply !!

I have figured out the root cause. CPU utilization was high on that particular application server And after further investigation i find heavy batch jobs was running during that time frame.

Could you check/confirm number of locks under SM12 & DB01.

Hi Ram,

Please check whether all the updates have similar time or only specific update activities lead to such high response time.

Check the details in history of ST03N.
