Deployment results differs with and without real-time option.

Hi guys,

While running deployment with delete option for unconfirmed SNP stock transfers and with Real time deployment option. Unconfirmed SNP stock transfers for the complete horizon got deleted.

But without real time deployment option and with delete SNP stock transfers, then we see the expected result that only unconfirmed SNP stock transfers within the SNP deployement horizon are deleted.

Why it differs, we are using daily buckets only in our planning book.

Please help.

Hi Vasanth,

This happen with real time deployment, coz' its work on that way. When you choose the real time deployment option, its delete all the previous stock transfer results in the target location and then perform a heuristic run between the source and destination/target location (only one t-lane is considered here, no quota). Then based on this heuristic result, the deployment run takes place.

Thanks,

Yes, I agree with Expert Satyajit's comment.  This is exactly what SAP Help says. Please see F1 Help just copy/pasted for quick reference -

Indicator: Real-Time Deployment

Use

Real-time deployment is used when deployment is to be based on the most
up-to-date results from the SNP run. This type of deployment takes into account
the current requirement situation at the destination locations. It is especially
important for distribution when using fair share rule B,
that target stock levels and planned stock levels have been calculated as
exactly as possible.

If you set this indicator, the system performs an SNP run between the source
location and associated destination locations selected on the selection screen.
All SNP stock transfers in the destination locations are deleted beforehand. In
contrast to the traditional SNP run, real-time deployment does not take into
account transportation lanes or quota arrangements between the destination
locations and any location other than the source location specified. The
specified source location and destination locations use transportation lanes as
though a quota arrangement between them has been 100% determined. Therefore,
stock transfers are only created between the deployment source location and the
destination locations.

After the SNP run, the system performs a deployment run based on the SNP
stock transfers that have been created. The SNP stock transfers are reduced by
the quantity of deployment stock transfers created.

Dependencies

When you set this indicator, three more selection options are displayed. You
can use these options to specify that already existing deployment
stock transfers
are to be deleted and replanned during the planning run
for real-time deployment. For more information about these options, see the
corresponding F1 help documentation.

Hope this will help.
