Hi,

There is no difference as such. The NWDS is an Eclipse plug-in. This plug-in provides the necessary perspectives and the views but uses the Eclipse framework to function.

Hi Deepu,

SAP has set of plugins like WebDynpro,CAF etc etc which are specific to SAP.

With Eclipse alone you can;t develop SAP applications. SO NWDS has SAP plugins on the top of eclipse .

Deepu,

NWDS has SAP developed plug-in's(like CAF,Wedynpro) where as Eclipse is just a tool to develop Java Applications.

You have to install myeclipse or any other plug-in to work with Eclipse for specific applications.

where as NWDS has build in plug-in's which supports SAP based applications.

To check the what J2EE engine is running

check the menubar go to Window>Preferences>on left side panel you have SAP J2EE engine-->there you can check the Host Name and Port Number.
