Role Mapping - GRC 10

Hi Consultants,

Can anyone explain me how this role mapping feature works?

I have uploaded a role in GRC. [System X]

Under role mapping added a role of different system [System Y]

Initially as per my understanding i thought when i provision Role X in system X, mapped role Y will be provisioned in system Y.

But it is not working that way.

So someone help me understand the concept of role mapping.

Hi Sai,

Both roles: X & Y have to be uploaded / maintained in BRM.

When you create an access request with role X, role Y (which is mapped to X) will also appear on that access request (and later will be provisioned in system).

Thanks for clarification.

Even my understanding is the same. But when i added role X, role Y is not getting added in the request.Do i need to make any specific setting for it.

Hi Sai,

I assume you have set parameter 2014 to YES.

Please check if you could request roles X & Y directly (just to be sure they are in BRM).

If yes, please attach screenshot how you have mapped those roles.

Hi Andrzej,

I have uploaded the roles into GRC directly but repository sync was not executed and hence few roles were not appearing in the access request screen.

After running the incremental sync, everything was working fine.
