Hi,

SOlman 7.1 SR1: SP stak 8 upgrade execution Phase:

Severe error(s) occured in phase MAIN_SWITCH/SUBMOD_SWITCH_KERNEL/KX_SWITCH!

Last error code set: Process /usr/sap/SN3/SYS/exe/run/sapcpe exited with 4, see '/db2/SN3/SM/SUM/abap/log/SAPCPE.OUT' for details    

Please share your thoughts on above error.

3 ETQ399 Kernel is replicated from /usr/sap/SN3/SYS/exe/run.

3 ETQ399 Replicating kernel to '/usr/sap/SN3/DVEBMGS02/exe'.

Please check the sapcpe.SAV file to know which files are causing the issues. Correct permission for
those files in above mentioned directory so they could be moved.

There should be a KX_SWITCH log file at /db2/SN3/SM/SUM/abap/log

You may check that or provide that. Or you can manually copy the kernel from the upgrade directory to the main system kernel location.

Do you have the sapcpe file present there ?

ls -la /usr/sap/SN3/SYS/exe/run/sapcpe

Try to trigger sapcpe manually as sn3adm or copy the files manually from /usr/sap/SN3/SYS/exe/run to /usr/sap/SN3/DVEBMGS02/exe directory and see if that fixes the issue.

Also make sure there is sufficient space in the /usr/sap/SN3/DVEBMGS02 file system.

Hi Chandra,

Please get the logs '/db2/SN3/SM/SUM/abap/log/SAPCPE.OUT    from your log and try repeating the phase I hope it should resolve the issue.
