Lumira and SQL Store procedure

Former Member

Hi ,

i tried to use Lumira to use SQL Store procedure on MS SQL Server 2008 but it wasn't visible in the Catalog appear after the connection.

This is a bag or an limitation of Lumira MS SQL Server connection?

My Lumira version is 1.15.

Thanks.

Andrea

Hi,

I would think this is a by-design limitation, i.e. feature not implemented.

There is a note in the help guide which hints:  "Only the SELECT statement is authorized in the SQL editor to acquire data from database tables"

I would recommend that you post your suggestion as an enhancement request in our 'ideas place' SAP Lumira: Ideas

Hi,

I suspect this is caused by the connection server default behavior - not to expose the stored procedures).

One quick way to confirm would be to test the same connection in Information Design Tool and see what happens with the catalog display. I would tend to think this would lead to the same result.

Hi Andrea,

"Behind the scenes" IDT and SAP Lumira are supported by the same SAP component to access the databases - namely the Connection Server. Hence the display should be consistent between IDT and SAP Lumira.

BTW, I was product owner in both IDT and SAP Lumira teams 🙂

Best regards,

As Henry suggested, you should either create or contribute to existing ideas in SAP Idea Places for IDT (Semantic Layer) and SAP Lumira.

Best regards,
