SAP on Oracle RAC

Hello Guru's,

I would like to install SAP on Oracle RAC. I'm infant to this RAC technology... i would request all to help me in the installation please.

For Oracle RAC, do we need to install  SAP on  oracle and than to migrate to oracle RAC.

Can some one explain right from core.

Hi,

I assume that you want to use RAC with ASM. If you are using the latest version of sapinst,  you should able to install SAP oracle db directly  to ASM.  You need to convert single instance database to RAC database after sapinst finished. it is easier compare to install SAP oracle db standard file system and migrated RAC with ASM.

This should be useful from operational perspective and check whether all the pre-requsities are fulfilled before staring the installation.

you need to go through the respective installation guide for the application you are planning to install.

In the guide there is a chapter on how to install SAP on RAC.
