External Breakpoint not activated on 1st run

Hi,

To debug a Webdynpro component, i try to set an external break point inside my Webdynpro code.

However, the debugger is not called at runtime.

So i goto SE38 or SE37 open any random program or function module and set a external break point.

On doing this, i get a success message saying external debugging has been activated for 2 hours.

Now, i go back to the Webdynpro code and set a new external break point and this time debugger is called and it works.

On some systems, debugging Webdynpro code works directly without the extra step.

This is not a big issue, but i was wondering what's going on here.

Hi,

Check the SAP Notes: 1415154 ,  1411633 if you are on relevant Netweaver version.

Else, delete the entries from table ICFATTRIB corresponding to your user ID.

Then, execute SICF, Edit -> Debugging -> Activate debugging.

The said notes are not relevant for our system and ICFATTRIB table is empty. I did not realize there could be notes for this issue, will research further. thanks for the leads.
