File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System

Hi guys,

Sorry if I'm placing this issue in a wrong forum.

I'm not a hardcore PI/XI guy so I might ask a dumb question

My XI colleagues have send me the following error message and ask me to solve it:

Connection File_http://sap.com/xi/XI/System failed, due to:
com.sap.engine.interfaces.messaging.api.exception.MessagingException: Received
HTTP response code 401: Unauthorized.

I checked
the logs and found:

Logon performed for client XXX, user XIAFUSER, and language DE. I can see that the client
and user are wrong, so should be simply to fix but…. Not matter who I
ask or what I read from SAP / the forums, I have not been able to find any
info on where or how to correct an issue like this. There are tons of info
about File_http but nothing in regards on how to set it up or solve my issue. I
have therefore concluded that I must be dumb as a door when it comes to XI
and that the
setup must be something XI gurus are just born, with so no one has to write it down

If someone knows how to solve this issue or have any inputs would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards

Jess

Hi,

Do you want to access an internal server? Has the PI Server the rights to access the server.

As i know otherwise you got this error.

Hi Bernhard

Thank you very much for your replie.

To me it looks like correct server but a wrong client. It seems that the call is trying to connect to the ABAP stack off the PI system but trying to logon to client 100 and not 160.

Hi Jesper,

Are you trying to connect via RFC or Proxy?, have you tried to connect via SAPgui to the ECC endpoint?, may be the user is blocked or it's not created in the correspondent client.

Hi Iñaki

my guess is Proxy. They are trying to send files via the File_HTTP. The endpoint is fine. In the error it trys to connect to client 100. There is no such client. It should use client 160, but I don't know where to correct it.

Hi Jesper,

Are you talking about the inbound proxy?, if i understand you, you can change the client directly in the receiver communication channel.

Hi Iñaki

I found and solved the error now.

Your link gave me an idea after talking to one of the XI application guys

I went thru the services in Config Tool and found the issue:

Service: com.sap.aii.adapter.xi.svc

sapClient was set to 100 and username was set to XIAFUSER.

How that info has ended up there I have no idea. To my knowledge it is an older systemer that has been upgraded multiple times, but there has never been a client 100 so must be a typo at some point

Thank you all for your input.

Best Regards

Jess
