Archiving and Deleting Of 5 year Old Messages

Dear All,

Recently we found out our messages are not properly archiving and deleting in the Production system and the database size increasing 16GB per month.

We have currently more than 2.5million messages in our production server.

We want to start the Archiving and Deleting of 5 year Old Messages but in sxmb_adm Transaction Define retention period we have option for specifying the max retention period for only 999 days.

As the number of messages in the server are more it will take more time to run may be few days, we are taking daily offline backup of the servers and this will cancel the background jobs.

Is there any way to give more retention period so that we can schedule the background job for archiving and delete the old messages with small time periods.

Hello,

I'm sorry to say the maximum limit to have for the retention period of messages is 999 days. Can you check through all the steps within the KBA #1883012 - How to archive smaller chunks of PI messages from Integration Engine for further details in regards to this issue.
