Message Archiving Access

Former Member

Hi,

We're trying to access the archived messages in RWB - Adapter Engine and we get this error:

Cannot read archived messages; reason: Reading Messages from Archive failed. Reason: com.sap.archtech.archconn.exceptions.ArchServiceException: Could not check index. Reason: 401:Unauthorized

how do we access the archived messages? if it's an authorization problem, what should we ask our basis to add in our role?

is it possible to un-archive the messages?

We are using sap pi 7.1 sp08

Thanks!

Hi Ronald,

Follow the below steps for role assignment:

Goto-->nwa  Url: http://xihost:port/nwa

select "Configuration tab-->Identity Management-->provide the SAP PI user at Search Criteria to assign the roles,

Select the displayed user and then click on "Modify" button and then Goto -->Assigned Roles tab

search for the roles in "Available Roles" window

Select the role and click on "add" button and then save it, role will be added to the given user.

Hi Ronald - You might be getting that error in RWB page as you have not configured the archiving yet.

However the role "SAP_ARCH_SUPERADMIN" should work. You can test this by accessing the archiving admin page

http://host:50000/DataArchivingService/DAS

If you don't have that role assigned, it would display  unauthorized error message.

After assigning it, it should display below page which will give you information on archiving on AE/Java Stack -

Have a look at the below blogs for more information on data archiving - Java stack.

Hi,

I'm having the same issue. My PI User has accessed the Data Archiving Services (http://host:50000/DataArchivingService/DAS) however when I access the RWB > Message Monitoring > Adapter Engine - Archive, still getting this error:

Cannot read archived messages; reason: Reading Messages from Archive failed. Reason: com.sap.archtech.archconn.exceptions.ArchServiceException: Could not check index. Reason: 401:Unauthorized

Any ideas?

thank you very much!

Hi Chrizel - Did you setup the archiving?

I assume we get this error if the proper configuration is not in place and hence there won't be any files on the file system to display the archived messages..

If you have already setup then try testing the archive store and see if that works..

There are no list of archived paths in http://host:port/DataArchivingService/DAS

we have no idea if there's an existing configuration for archiving since last week's transactions are already gone. is it possible to locate or retrieve last week's messages? thanks!

May be the default delete job is configured which deletes the messages in adapter engine.

Go to component monitoring-> select adapter engine -> click on back ground processing

here you can find the delete job and schedule.

You can adjust it accordingly.
