Saint stucks - DDIC_ACTIVATION error

I am trying to install Opentext VIM component, the installation failed by following messages:

The installation was stopped, since an error occurred during the phase

DDIC_ACTIVATION, which the Add-On Installation Tool is unable to reso

without your input.

After you have corrected the cause of the error, continue with the

import by choosing Continue in the queue display.

The following details help you to analyze the problem:

     -   Error in phase: DDIC_ACTIVATION

     -   Reason for error: TP_STEP_FAILURE

     -   Return code: 0008

     -   Error message: OCS Package SAPK-70001INOTEXVIM, tp step "A",

         return code 0008

Now i cannot reset the installation queue, nothing to do but fix the problem.

Can anyone show me what is the problem, how to go through it?or how to reset cancel the installation at this moment?

Hi all,

Thanks for all your kind suggestion, i have found a solution for my matter.

Find below steps to Reset the OCS queue while applying add on / support packs.

At command line on prompt

Run below command

tp r3i all pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_DOMAIN_.PFL tag=spam -Dclientcascade=yes -Drepeatonerror=8

After this it will again come on your prompt.

Then go in se37 run below program

ocs_reset_queue

Hit F8

Give following parameter

IV_TOOL = SPAM / SAINT

IV_FORCE = X

Hit execute.

Now run SPAM or SAINT and redefine your queue.

I also think it may be the solution Cinu wanna to share with me, but the provided link is unavailable.

Please attach the log for the queue you are applying (goto --> import logs).. meantime you can retry one more time sometime this trick works.

What is the SAP release of the system on which OT add-on is being installed ?

Did you check OT release notes for installation and pre-requisities ?

U r correct,  i didn't implement the relevant notes in pre-requisities.

i am a new guy to learn SAP basis, so this is just a pratice system, so at this situation, what can i do to go through it or anywhere release it, it said it can not be reset via message "You cannot reset the queue from import phase "DDIC_ACTIVATION", pffff

try to implement per-requisities and then retry or you can raise an OSS message with SAP and they can help.

worst case is to restore the Database.

Hi Sunil,

I had considered to implement the necessary notes, but SNOTE said the "OCS locked by DDIC with transaction SAINT", it stucks, and also the note doesn't contain a manual solution.

Hi Spencer,

Take time and read the release notes and dependencies before you implement something. Since this is a practice system, I would advice you to stop the SAP system and restore the database (assuming that the backup exists).

Once you are comfortable with release notes, you can restart the installation.
