Hi Deepak,

Thanks for the response,

1) Please provide details on what kind of compression has been implemented ( Tablespace compression or table column compression )

Tablespace

2) Also what is the impression on performance ? Which transactions are being slow ?

We have done for CRM , CRMWEBUI is slow .

3) Did you check backup using RMAN or brtools what is the transfer rate ?

RMAN(Now 200 KBPS before it was 2500Kbps)

Hi,

For system response time - You should check whether it is happening for entire system or for specific Tcodes. Trace one of the transaction and check for the clue where it is taking long time (update etc.).

For backups - There is no such direct impact with compression, backup time is majorly depended on the database size and the backup speed. Compression never increase the backup execution time (most/almost all of the customers got positive response that backups are 3 times faster after this).

Check whether your third party tool is supporting the compressed database backups or not?
