Alert Configruations using SAP Solution Manager

Hello All SAP PI experts,

In our project we have SAP PI 7.4 system but we have to setup alerts for the errors. I'm not able to find any relevant info regarding that.

Someone kindly provide the steps detailing how to setup alerts in SolMan.

This is the first time I'm using SolMan and also this is the first time I'm doing alerts configurations.

FYI, the system is a Java only PI.

If you are in single stack then you have two options for alert configuration

1. You can go for component based message alerting.See the blog for details.

2. You can configure the alert using the previous method which is alert category in ABAP stack and alert rules in RWB.

Your solution managers need to be connected to your PI system. Once connected you will create alert category in solution manager using t-code ALRTCATDEF

Create rules in RWB.
