How to add new server node on Java WAS at NW04s/Portal 7?

Hello,

I am looking for a documentation on adding new server node to the Java WAS on NW04s. As far as I know it has been changed since NW04 (templates added)...

Can someone please refer me to useful links/pdf with a step-by-step procedure?

Roy

Hi,

it is quite simple and did not change much. Look at

<a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/68/dcde416fb3c417e10000000a155106/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp2005vp/helpdata/en/68/dcde416fb3c417e10000000a155106/frameset.htm</a>

Restart is taking a bit longer, since the whole file system for the new server node has to be build up, so be patient.

Hi,

What about the templates they have added?

Hi,

during installation SAPinst normally installs the right number of server processes. If you want to change the number later on, you can add or delete server processes using the config tool.

If you mean the "template installer" tool, this tool does something different.

See <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/98/fa9b6ec510404dbcfebf35cb107c04/frameset.htm">http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/98/fa9b6ec510404dbcfebf35cb107c04/frameset.htm</a>
