Hi,
Our environment is:
Business Intelligence 4.1
Crystal Designer 2011 Version 14.0
Visual Studio 2010
Asp.Net
When we tried to deploy report into server using "Enterprise" option in Crystal Designer, we are getting Transport error: Communication Failure (FWM 00001). We are getting same error when we are trying to login to enterprise from ASP.Net web application using .Net SDK? We opened ports from 6400 to 6490 in our firewall for crystal server. We can ping from our local system to crystal server and from crystal server to our local machine, local machine is the system from where we are trying to connect to server either through Crystal Designer or from application.
Apart from opening ports in firewall, do we have to manually assign ports to servers which are in Central Management Console? if so, can we have a links which shows what are server to manually assign ports?
Or instead of manually assign ports, can we do same on crystal server system?
Any other solutions to fix the communication error?
Thanks in advance
Hello,
Please try below steps:
RESOLUTION:
To initiate communication you need to open ports on firewall for the following server ports. Assign static request ports to these servers and open bi-directionally on Firewall.
Good Luck

Hi,
Please could you try the following:
1- Assign static ports to CMS Request Port, Input FRS Request Port and
Connection Server request port.
2- To assign static ports, open properties of respective server, uncheck Auto
Assign and manually enter Request Port.
3- Open these ports bi-directionally on firewall.
Hope that this could help .
Cheers,
Manoubia

Forgot to mention one point: We are able to login in CMC and run report. Not able to connect to CR server from Designer and .Net web application.

Hello,
DNS name resolution of CMS host is mandatory to be able to login.
Please create appropriate hosts file entries and then try to login.
