brbackup - incremental can not find full

I have done a brbackup full no errors

the command used

brbackup -u / -p initPSM.sap -t offline -c -k yes

then the next night i tried to do an incremental

brbackup -u / -p initPSM.sap -t online -m incr -c -a -sd

but I get the errors

the other then the -k option on the full, the command line options were

provided to me by the SAP person here on site

Hi Pete,

I think you must use "-m full" option at the initial backup.

Hello Peter,

One note, if you want to use "incremental" backup, you have to configure BRBACKUP to perform the backups using RMAN.

If you do not use RMAN, then you cannot use incremental.

Note 1, the manual is very good

perhaps a bit "big" but you can take a look to the parts you are interested now and leave the rest for later

Note 2, perhaps it is better that you use the forum SAP on Oracle for this questions

is the the RMAN that comes with a base oracle install or the RMAN that sits

on its own server and has a RMAN catalogue etc

Hello,

RMAN is RMAN

Recovery Manager

You can use it with catalog or without catalog

The catalog can be in a different server.

If you configure BR* to use RMAN, then it will be used without catalog, in that case, he will store backup information on the control files.
