Link GTS Billing of Lading with PO/Inbound delivery/Import declaration document

Dear Expert,

Can we generate billing of lading document based on PO/Inbound delivery? Can we link billng of lading and import declaration document with document flow?

Hi Hedy,

No, you can't create a BoL from an MM document as standard.  There is an API (interface), but that would need in-project development.

Why do you want to do this?  It's already possible to create Import Declarations from P.Os and Inbound Delivery replica (document type DTAVI), so please explain why you are looking for another solution.

Hi Dave,

The Purpose is to link PO/Inbound Delivery No. with Billing of Lading No./Declaration document No. automatically.

If we create billing of lading manually in GTS, that means PO/Inbound Delivery No. need to be maintained manually also.

If billing of lading can be created based on PO/Inbound delivery automatically, then manual effort can be reduced. Right?

Hi Hedy,

Yes, ok, but exactly what data would you want to maintain & store in the BoL replica?  Are you trying to record a replica of the actual BoL in the system?  If so, for what reason?

Please consider if you could instead use the "Presentation" document type for that - then you can create it with standard configuration when the Inbound Delivery is saved.

If you really want to use the BoL, then you will have to develop your own solution to map and call the GTS interface module /SAPSLL/API_6800_CFB_SYNCH (or ..._CFB_CHG if the BoL has already been created).  You would need to provide the BoL number in the interface somehow.

Hi Dave,

You are right. We want to maintain the actual BoL in the system. The purpose is to record shipment information such as BoL number, weight, packages, flight no..etc -- these information will be printed on declaration form later. And also record information such as planned and actual loading/unloading date..etc, which are used for lead time KPI.
