The descriptions for materials are not being updated automatically inside of APO

Hi All,

We did some changes in material master descriptions in ECC. After the weekly run of integration models also these changes are not updating in APO.

Please let me know do we need to changes in integration models or CIF settings.

Hi Giri,

Try with RIMODINI program for the material, transactionl data changes. This will transfer changes immediately.

If it not worked then check if there are any queues in APO and do the necessary changes in Material Master.

I am giving some general guidelines on Master Data transfer using CIF. This will likely resolve your issue.

By running below programs in their order, you will be able to achieve Periodic Data Transfers through Batch Jobs.

Generate integration model - RIMODGEN  (Same as CFM1)  and
Activate integration model - RIMODAC2 (Same as CFM3)

And transaction CFP1 or program RCPTRAN4 can be used for Processing change pointers

This approach will transfer the differential data w.r.t Master data. It will also help minimize data transfer related to master data.

Transaction CFC9 :
For master data it is commonly used - Option#1 of "ALE Change Transfer, Periodic" from CFC9. Changes to master data objects in ECC are recorded and then transfer of the changes is done periodically.

However if required, it can be transferred Immediately using Option#2 of "BTE Transfer, Immediately" from CFC9.

If Option#1 selected then,
1.CIF Message types must be activated for change recording. Transaction BD50
2.Activate Change Pointers. Transaction BD61.
3.The fields relevant to a message type to be selected. Transaction BD52
4.Table BDCPV can be used to view Change pointers.

Did you try the report RIMODINI for your material master integration model?

Also check CFC9 in ECC  material master change transfer setting.

We are using BTE transfer for material transfer in CFC9.

We are using rimodgen and rimodac2 for integration models for weekly jobs for master data.

Please help how to populate the new changes.

Hi Giri

As far as I can remember, change in material description would not generate a Change Pointer and hence would not be picked up by RIMODAC2. You need to run RIMODINI for this.
