Hi Load,

Lets work on the first error "***ERROR***:  Shortcut entry with name >ShortCut to CA4< already exists in the properties map".  Make backup of the sapshortcut.ini.  Please edit sapshortcut.ini located under C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Roaming and remove the existing entry ShortCut to CA4.  Check security of all files under Roaming have the proper authorization's (Read Write etc...)  Especially the ones you are having issues with.

If you still  are getting and error and must stay on SAP GUI for Windows 7.20 I would update SAPSeup.  You can find it at "https://www.service.sap.com/swdc -> Support Packages and Patches -> A - Z Index -> "S" -> SL Toolset -> SL Toolset 1.0 -> Entry By Components -> SAPSetup"  It is downward compatible.  Reference SAP Note 1583967.  If you continue receiving error's run the SAP GUI Installation Check and resolve any issues there.

Make sure right click on the file saplgpad.exe and run as Administrator.

Hi Lode,

You can copy the SapLogonTree.xml from another computer. It seems that the file could be corrupted.

Best regards,

Martina

Make sure after the GUI is installed, that the MSXML6 dependency is installed.

You can download this from the Microsoft website

7.20 is no longer supported,Lode.

Please do the following:

1    Start -> Control panel -> Add/remove programs - select SAPGUI for Windows

2 - After this, please make sure that the folder
C:\Program files\SAP\FrontEnd is properly removed. Otherwise delete
it manually.

3 - Re-install the 730 with patch 8.

This can be downloaded from the sap service marketplace.

Please download the latest Compilation DVD from the following location.

Hi Jude,

Thank you for your reply.

We completely removed the SAP GUI including the SAP\FrontEnd folder and re-installed version 7.20. This doesn't solve the problem.

I asked our operations team to download the latest version to check whether this solves the problem.

Jude asked you to re-install version 7.30 PL8, not 7.20 PL x.
