hi fellows,
we all know that a relational connection can be built to SAP HANA database, and we build data foundation, biz layer to publish it to the repository, so that we can create a WEBI report based on a query to visit the universe.
However, does anybody know how to create a WEBI query on a SAP HANA OLAP connection? Since we don't need to build any data foundation on it.
I created a sap hana olap connection, but failed to find anywhere to publish it? Can anybody help?
thanks,
Jennifer
Hello Jennifer,
today Web Intelligence needs a universe in order to connect to SAP HANA, so you need to create a relational connection (JDBC recommended), create a Data Foundation and Business Layer.
The roadmap mentions that there is a direct connectivity planned (service.sap.com/Roadmap).

Hi Jacqueline,
thanks for your reply in time.
I already saw this tutorial. what I don't understand is WEBI needs a universe to connect to HANA, while Olap analysis report doesn't. I can see olap hana connection directly when I create a olap analysis one.
When creating a WEBI report, there're several type of connections to choose: universe, bex, excel, web services, analysis view. there's no other connection refers to olap connection.
Therefore, what what do you mean by available directly from Webi?

Jennifer

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-8461Hi Jennifer
Here is a link to a demo,
Scroll down to Connecting to Data Sources
Then select Olap to Hana
Once created it should be available directly from WEbi.
