hi all,
Can someone differentiate and explain the basic differences between SAP SRM and ICH Supplier ? In other words the salient features of both these products and comparative study, if any ?
We will be shortly be implementing SAP, and yet to decide on which way to go when it comes to Supplier Relations.
Though there is good amount of info available on the net on both SRM and ICH, nothing I could find spoke of features and all important comparison (i.e. Why ICH or Why SRM) kind of stuff...
Thanking you in advance....
Regards,
Raghu
SRM is a Procurement Solution application and appeals to Purchasing department in general. Some of the key functionalitities looked upon by Purchasing department are: sourcing, bidding, contracting etc. Supplier self service (which is a part of SRM provides full cycle PO collaboration with suppliers).
SAP's direction is to use SRM for indirect materials and services.
ICH on the other hand focusses on direct material procurement and more importantly colloborating with suppliers for inventory. ICH appeals more to the materials planners/inventory planners in a company.

Hi Raghu,
At a very broad level:
the ICH is a collaboration portal. Your suppliers can log on here and see your demands and prepare their supply plan and submit to you.
SRM is basically a bidding portal. You can have scenarios like live auction here, where you can have multiple parties doing auction on a live portal.
