Files are not picked up from the FTP location in SAP PI 7.31 single stack due to data issue

Hi Expert,

In our recent project we are facing a issue where the files are not getting picked up by file adapter from the FTP location . We analyzed and found that the files are not picked due to incomplete structure.

Assume 100 files are placed in that FTP location. 2 of them contains incomplete data, for example the fields are not present due to which the receiver will be determined at the target side. Due to that reason the whole bunch of files are not picking from that location. We ran the interface through 7.0 also. There the files are picking successfully and failing in PI due to receiver determination error.

As the channels are showing green in RWB, it is very difficult to identify the problem. Also it is not possible to ping the channel every time if you have more than 2000 channels.

It is very crucial because the users are not getting data at proper time and PI is not able to report the issue as it is not failing at PI side. So the whole process is getting delayed for long.

Please suggest us if you have already faced this issue and the workaround to resolve this.

Thanks

Subhadip

Hi Subhadip,

Check your PI 7.0 SP:  973405 - XI / PI File Adapter: Processing may not pick up all files

Hi Subhadip - Did you enable the xsd validation in the Integrated configuration?

Also when you have incomplete /invalid files what is the channel status? Is it in error state?

If you had already enabled the archive faulty source files option and it doesn't work then have a look at the below SAP note and see if that is applicable to you

1963283 - Archive faulty source files option does not work properly in File Adapter

Hi Subha,

You can check the option "Archive Source Files with Errors" in File sender cc.

Files which fail in content conversion will be moved to Error directory and rest of the files shall be processed in the next poll interval.

Configuring the Sender File/FTP Adapter (SAP Library - Partner Connectivity Kit)
