Hello everyone, just have a couple of questions, hope i can get resolution,
1. I have a customer that is buying ERP, yet their Database is IBM´s DB2 running on AS/400. How do i go about the DB licence:
a. Is the DB already embebbed in the server?
b. Should i just sell the ERP and they buy DB from IBM
c. Should i sell DB2 for Windows, Linux or Unix.
2. When installing SAPGUI on AS/400, is the interface the same? does it look alike than any other platform?
It´s my understanding we should proceed as if it was Windows and download TMKSVR on iseries, any other thing i should be aware of?
thanks in advance.
Hello Eliana,
1 - The database is an integral part of the operating system.
2 - SAPGUI does not get installed on the AS/400, it runs on Windows and connects to SAP on the AS/400. And yes the gui looks and feels the same as for other platforms.
You will need to read up on the install as SAP is now installed using the Software Provisioning Manager.
