Product heuristic or interactive planning not working

Hi,

For one of my product , the PPDS planning is not happening while executing product heuristic (SAP_PP_002).Even it is not working while doing manual planning.

Error: "Order not created for product XXXXX loc XXX date XXXXXXXX for qty XXXX".

Maintained PDS perfectly and resources are fine.

What could be the possible reason for this issue?

In logs, it is saying explosion failed and order not created.

Maintained explosion from PDS also in global settings.

The recipe of the product was not maintained properly and product is now planning perfect after correcting the same.

Hi,

I am also getting same error.  In my scenario SNP optimizer is creating SNP: Plnd Order. This implies availability of resource capacity.

Next we are running PPDS heuristic (infinite scheduling) for conversion of these orders to PPDS: PlOrd within PPDS horizon. PPDS is deleting SNP planned orders but it is not creating new PPDS orders. And it is throwing error. Both these steps were executed through process chain for 1700 products/ across all resources,  in one location.

For simulation of this issue: we had executed interactive  SNP optimizer for the selective location- product.  It is creating SNP planned orders, with date & quantity same as earlier SNP optimizer run. In next step we are executing PPDS run for same location - product, and SNP orders are getting converted to PPDS PlOrd. This implies that there is no error in PPM/ Recipe/ validity date of PPM/ Adequate availability off resource capacity.

What could be the possible reason?

Hi Tiago/Satish,

After running the heuristic I am seeing the log in planning log only and not in scheduling log.

It says

1) Surplus when calculating duration of activity

2)Plan explosion failed for product

3) Order not created.

Any reason for this please?

Are there any other error messages in the Planning Logs?

Are there any errors in the Scheduling Logs?

"Order not created for product XXXXX loc XXX date XXXXXXXX for qty XXXX" is a very general message that can be caused by several things (order quantity is outside lot-size of the PDS, order quantity is outside the lot-size interval defined for the Product in the Product Master, order date is outside validity of the PDS, capacity requirement in the activity is bigger than available capacity in the resources, one of the components of the order has planning procedure "manual with check" assigned but there are no existing receipts to cover the dependent demand, etc).

Please, let us know if there are any more details in the logs as that may be helpful to determine the reason.
