SAP DMS

Hello SAP Gurus,

We have SAP DMS installed on content servers with MAXDB database. How can I access the documents that are saved on the dms system through an external system. What type of abap development or configuration would be required to integrate the external system to SAP DMS?

Can we do this using RFC? or is there any other method ?

Hi Madan,

Yes. this can be done through RFC with trusted connections.

If you can elaborate little bit about accessing documents through an external system, it would be better.

Access DIR's or originals or.... and what is the purpose of taking out this data?

We dont need to take out any data but basically if I need to look at some document in DMS which were uploaded earlier, how can I achieve that from an external system .

What do you refer as external system here?

Other than SAP, then RFC are recommended.
