Warning Pop Up : Failed to open document in tcode CV02N / 03N

Dear Experts,

I am facing one problem while opening the original attachment i.e. warning pop up is coming : Failed to open document.

Actually this problem is coming only for application type = ACD , doc. type = CAD, for others its working properly.

One more thing after changing the original this problem is coming, if we are not changing the original then it's opening perfectly in  ECL viewer.

I have done check in original also, even though this warning is coming, kindly find the attachment of warning pop up.

Plz. help me resolve the issue at earliest.

Hi Ravi/Chandu,

Yes auto-cad s/w is there in the system. Once i have clicked the pencil icon to change the original, doc. get opened in the autocad itself, i have made the changes and saved it and did the check in original (lock came). And after this when i am trying to display/change the attachment then its throwing the warning pop up.

Everything seems OK.

Just try by unticking 'Dialog when overwriting' in ACD workstation application.

I tried by unticking "dialog when overwriting" checkbox, for ACD workstn. appln.

But still it's not working.

HI Abhishek ,

Ask basis consultant to download and install latest ECL viwer patch level 14 (ECL70_14-10009623.exe ) from market place.

Make sure DC30 setting  of ACD work station application for type 2   as EAIWeb.webviewer2D.1 %SAP-CONTROL% . and upload 2D drawing .

Are you sure uploaded 2D  drawing for ACD work application????????????

Exactly sir, you are my active SCN master .

Abhishek :  If  Auto cad installed on your system than maintain load preferences with existed( auto cad or PROE ) software details on ECL viewer for edit/ displaying the drawing .

Hi Abhishek,

For others ACD original opened through ECL viwer means fine.Who all are not access the same original has to check with GUI patch ,ECL viwer patch. If so ask basis person for latest patch levels.

One more thing check authorization level to that person.

....Without auto-cad also we can view/Edit  2D,3D drawing through ECL viewer.

Thanks for your reply.

I am aware of it and at the same time, we can only do redlining through layers on the 2D/3D drawings and we cannot edit it using ECL viewer.

ECL viewer is meant for viewing & redlining of certain types of originals.

Why i was asking that question was - He wants to edit/change the original which is only possible with the native application like autocad.

Hi Chandu,

Person has authorization of DMS_All.

Can you elaborate further about GUI / ECL patches, and what need to be check.

For all other doc. type XLS,Doc,PDF or etc.this issue is not coming except this DWG (CAD) file.

Kindly suggest something to overcome from this.
