should SAP NetWeaver 7.4 and NetWeaver Gateway 7.4 not install or set separately always ???

Hi ,

NetWeaver Gateway are integrated into SAP NetWeaver 7.4, so don’t need to install them or set them up separately.

Is it so always???

In Case if both are separate then for where we should create service in SEGW inside NWgateway7.4 or NW7.4.

in this blog, this is mentioned,

component SAP_GWFND is installed as part of the 7.40 standard and includes the functional scope of IW_BEP, GW_CORE, IW_FND and in addition IW_HDB.

it means that we need not to install gateway component separately.

Hi,

if both system are NW 7.4 then you can create service in both system using transaction SEGW as both system will have component SAP_GWFND installed.

in general, IW_BEP is the component which enables backend service development. but as mentioned earlier, it will come pre-installed in system NW 7.4 as part of component SAP_GWFND.

so answer to your question, you can create service in both system.
