Registering R/3 to SLD: Partner not reached error

Hello,

I am trying to register the R/3 system (4.6D) with WAS 7.0 SLD. This is what I configured

Host: ctcdspta2.mfpdev.alltel.abc.com

Service : sapgw10.

Error:

0: CTCDARTA2_RS5_10 : RFC call failed: partner not reached (host ctcdspta2.mfpdev.alltel.abc.com, service sap)

Does anybody know whats wrong?.

Hi Raj,

There are three possible reasons:

1. did you mentioned the hostname in /etc/hosts

2. do you have /etc/services for the port 3318

It should be: sapgw18 3318/tcp

3. try reducing the hostname length

Could you please post more error trace.

Thanks for responding.

1. Which host name and in which system I should maintain?.

I have R/3 host name with IP in etc/hosts file.

2. etc/services, I have 3318 port for sapgw18.

3. yes, I used only host name. but no success.

ctcdarta2 is the R/3 host.(I configured this in SLD Bridge Host, earlier I configured j2ee host name).

Now, I am getting this error:

0: CTCDARTA2_RS5_10 : Batch job not scheduled

CM_ALLOCATE_FAILURE_RETRY: Temporary problem (for example,: partner is not active).
