Indian Excise Duty Rates

Former Member

Hi,

With the current budget changes the applicable Excise Duty rate for our inputs are 10% & 12%.

We have updated the tariff wise rate in the excise master through “J1ID”.

We also sell these products and charge the excise duty under deemed manufacturing from our Warehouse with plant code “LTID”.

As some of the input are procured with 12% duty rate but are to be cleared with 10% duty rate from warehouse, pls. let us know how the excise master do be updated in such cases.

Please revert.

Hi Sameer,

If its a warehouse then you do not have to worry. In warehouse while selling goods you will refer to the input excise invoice and pass on the duties paid.

In case of manufacturing its not an issue. Each company always take care of the this type of changes in the form of mark up price or add on values.

Thanks and Regards,

The tax rates changes should be as the valid date which had been changed in J1ID.

If you procured earlier with 12 % then it should be cleared based on the same and new will be applicable from new valid dates.

Refer the below OSS Note regarding the rates changes how to handle them..
