SEGW is on NetWeaver Gateway7.40 or SAP NetWeaver 7.40(EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0)

Hi Experts,

I am new to Net Weaver Gateway, I have “EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0” as ERP and “SAP NetWeaver 7.40” on separate system on cloud. Basis team has already provide us both the system, now it is my turn as a developer to give OData services to UI team (Front-end team) for consumption. Please suggest, should I develop my service in SEGW in ECC box 7.4 or Net Weaver Gateway. The basic requirement is to consume OData service on the front-end, which in-turn calls the BAPI from the back-end (ECC).

Hi Ankita,

I would suggest developing services (SEGW) on ECC and registering them (/IWFND/MAINT_SERVICE) on Gateway Server. This would eliminate need of RFC calls from Gateway classes to ECC, but still keeping future options open.
