Export data to CSV error: Message Not Available

Hi all,

When exporting data from my view created in IS, I get error "Message Not Available".

See attached the screenshots of this procedure.

Does anyone encountered this error too?

No, this is what I get (in IS 4.2 SP1):

I assume your file (.zip) hasn't been created, has it? Is there anything in the logs?

No, no file is generated.

In which log files should I have a look?

We are running on IS 4.1 SP2

Hi Brecht,

My logs are in C:\ProgramData\SAP BusinessObjects\Data Services\log\ViewdataService. But I am afraid you are running into a bug. I found exactly the same issue logged by somebody else, a couple of months ago. No reply or solution.

I cannot find anything related in the Release Notes though. Unfortunately, I cannot reproduce, we've just upgraded our last server to 4.2 SP1, last week. And as said before, it works fine for me.

If you cannot get it to work in your IS version, you could define a view at database level as a workaround. A database view will be treated as a table in IS.

Assuming you can export data from a table without any problems .
