Hi Rinald,

DP planning area you defined a storage bucket profile . The periodicity is defined using the planning buckets profile refer to Transaction /SAPAPO/TR30. You can only use planning buckets profiles that are compatible with the storage buckets profile of the planning area refer to Transaction /SAPAPO/TR32. So the storage buckets profile consists of months, you can use all planning buckets profiles for the release that consist of  months. And you can specify a buckets profile in the release profile in Transaction /SAPAPO/MC8S.

Addition to it you need to create

0  Master Planning Object Structure (MPOS)

  1. Planning Area (PA)
  2. Define Characteristics
  3. Key Figures
  4. Define Info Area
  5. Define Info cube
  6. Creation of CVC's
  7. Load Data from Info cube to Planning area
  8. Planning book with data view
  9. Forecast Profile
  10. Storage Bucket profile
  11. Time Bucket profile.

   Etc

Please download following material from SAP.com Y94_SCM701_BB_ConfigGuide for further visibility on DP.

Hi Ronald,

Do you want to generate forecast once a month or you want to forecast in monthly buckets ?

If you want to forecast once a month, then there is no special setting for this. The background job which generates the forecast should be scheduled once a month only so that forecast is generated once a month.

If you want to generate the forecast considering the historical data in monthly buckets, then in the Master Forecast Profile (/n/sapapo/mc96b), maintain "M Month" for "Period" in the additional settings.

Mitesh
