HANA Authentication

Hello,

Client Scenario -

Client XYZ is looking to implement SSO with Windows AD-based authentication from BI 4.1 with BW on enterprise HANA to enable end-users to log on with Windows credentials for reporting.

Challenge/Question :

1. With HANA supporting multiple authentication options at a time for a user, how the authentication priority will be decided, if a user tries to logon directly to HANA studio assuming I have enabled password-based & kerberos based authentication at a time.

2. How to block end-users from logging onto HANA studio by mistake, if they get HANA studio installed in SSO scenario ?

Thanks.

Ravi

If you have multiple authentication methods applied, I believe it will function as an AND operator, ie you can do both. For example, my user ID is set up for both since I need HANA Studio and also BO.

If you don't want to allow users to log into HANA directly, simply deactivate the undesirable authentication method, ie password, and just let the SSO take over.

Justin
