Hi Gurus,
We are planning upgrade to SAP GTS 10.1
Is it possible to run GTS 10.1 without having Java stack?
Is Customs management working without having Java stack?
Java stack in our opinion is only needed for ADS, But I think we do not need ADS in GTS
Thx+Rgds
Dieter
Hi Dieter,
Your assumption is correct, you do not need Java stack for GTS to function in general.
For document print output from Customs declaration etc, the standard forms use ADS, but if you have Java stack running on another system in your landscape (for example XI/BPO), ADS can be put on that system and called on-demand from purely ABAP GTS system.
If you are planning to use webUI functionalities, however, i`m not 100 % sure if you need Java parts, maybe others will have more complete answer. Also technical/master guide should have a matrix which system component you need for which functionality.
Hope this helps, at least partially.

Hi Branislav,
Okay got it. But as far as I know the customs declaration (the PDF we are getting back from customs) is created by the customs.
We are getting the PDF through Seeburger BIS into SAP and I think the PDF is not generated
in SAP, so I assume for customs declaration we do not need ADS. Am I right?
Thx Dieter
