MCOD Split

Dear all,

just a question for you

Starting from a MCOD environment (3 SID), the idea is to split them and keep three stand alone instances.

Environment SLES11/ORACLE11

The initial approach is to perform the export of the schema via sapinst (in total three exports dump) and then execute the migration into the new environment/HW.

It seems that there is not a standard SAP procedure for this kind of activities, so I'm here to ask you if someone has already done a split of a MCOD using a different method.

Any suggestion will be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Hi Cristian,

Using SWPM or sapinst to export the db schema is a standard SAP method to split the database based on schema.

For other purposes you may look for Oracle DB tools.

Additionally refer FAQs on MCOD for more clarifications

Hope this helps.

Hi Christian,

As suggested by Deepak, use sapinst, I have done it before you just need to make sure you have the correct env set and point it to the correct profiles during the export.

Best Regards
