Hi Experts,
Async Idoc messages in PI can result in four types of acknnowledgements : System Ack, System Error Ack, Application Ack and Application Error Ack.
In the case of Idoc sender to Idoc receiver scenario, which of these are sent by PI Receiver adapter and which of these are sent by the receiving Application ?
Hi,
Go through below link for clear understanding .
http://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/XI/Acknowledgement+types
Receiver adapters support system acknowledgments but not application acknowledgments.
Application acknowledgements need to be send by target systems only

Hi,
Thanks for all the responses. So, Application ack come from Receiving system. How does an app ack is sent back when
(a) Receiver is ccBPM process step within PI
(b) Reciever is a Mail Adapter
(c) Reciever is a non-SAP legacy system that is not aware of such Ack methods.
In case if the receiver is a SAP system, is there a document that describes the configs needed to send a successfull ack, where
(a) reciever is an RFC port receiving in idoc format
(b) Reciever is a proxy receiving XML messages
Thanks,
Rukmani

Hi Rukmini,
System level acknowledgements are from Adapters and Application ack are from Reciver Aplications..

Hi PL,
System Ack, System Error Ack are by Receiver adapter & Application Ack and Application Error Ack are by receiving Application response..
