SAP GUI 7.30 Office 2013 support (DOI)

Hello,

I've recently updated to SAP GUI 7.30 (patch level 7) and MS Office 2013 and found out that there are some troubles with office integration. I'm not getting "inplace" integration, MS Office documents always open in separate windows (for example, in such transactions as SCASE). Also, for MSO 2010 in some menus I could see such options as Create... MS Word/MS Excel/MS Powerpoint/From file... now I see only "From file"...

Is it really leaves much to be desired or am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance for help.

Hello Anton,

A quick test-

Can you start SE38 or SA38 - > program, SAPRDEMO_SPREADSHEET_INTERFACE.

Select Excel from the dropdown menu, and check the box 'run application inplace'.

then press <enter>

From the Tables section on the top right, click on Insert SFLIGHT which should bring up the data into the excel inplace. (you might have to scrolldown to see more data)

If it works here then it could be the application issue.

If you get no data, refer to the settings in note

Hi!

thanks for Your reply. I've tried to do what You wrote and succeeded. Excel opens really inlace and is filled with data (I only had to grant permissions for macros).

But still, when I try to open MS Word inlace - it starts in separate window. Is there any program of such as for Excel?

Also, I believe, that there are some troubles with SCASE transaction - Excel file isn't opened inlace, but in separate window.

Hi Anton

Is this OS & Office 2013 application are running in 64 bit?

No, both OS and Office 2013 (365) are 32-bit.

Hi

Thanks for your info

1. Could you check with this SAP Note 1577992 - Calling Document template pops up Window Installer regularly

2. During the execution time are you getting any dump? Pls check in the transaction code ST22?

Yes there is Anton,

It's  SAPRDEMO_WORD_NOTEPAD

When you run this, there are 3 options.

Run each of the 3 options in sequence and see if it works.

As far as I know,Office 365 is not supported, but Office 2013 Pro 32bit works in Gui 7.30 patch 7

See note http://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/722513

Office 365 is a cloud-based Office package that has various functional
limitations:

Since Desktop Office Integration makes extensive use of these features,
Office 365 cannot be supported by DOI. Moreover, it is not possible to use the
functions elsewhere. For this reason, there will be no release of DOI for Office
365. If you use DOI, use one of the Office products specified below.

Within the framework of Office 365 ProPlus, it is possible to obtain local
installations of full Microsoft Office packages (such as Office 2013). Although
Desktop Office Integration works with such packages, you must consider that
Microsoft might automatically upgrade such packages to a new release, which SAP
does not yet support. DOI is only released for the specific packages listed
below. Therefore, you must make sure that you use one of these Office
packages.

Regards,

Jude
