QM certificate issue in QC20

Dear Experts,

We have a scenario where in we have two plants. One is 1000 (manufacturing plant) and 1001( depot).

We have all setup (MICs, inspection plans, certificate profiles) in place for QM to generate certificate in QC20 at 1000. But the same material is transferred to 1001 (Depot) and from there, it is shipped to customer. So now we want the certificate (QC20) to be generated against outbound delivery of 1001 to customer without having any setup at 1001. Can you suggest if there is any way that we could accomplish this? If we create all setup (MICs, inspection plans, certificate profiles) and again do the result recording (qa32) for the same materials at 1001, it would be duplicate work for users.

If we try to generate certificate at 1001 against outbound delivery of 1001, we get following error.

The data for batch 000000000000XXXX 1001 XXXXXXX could not be printed

Thanks,

Sachin

What batch level at you running at?   Plant or material level?

Certificate profiles are not plant specific unless you configured the assignments to be that way.  It doesn't sound like the cert is any issue in your case.

The error you are getting indicates it is looking for a batch in plant 1001. If your batch management is at the plant level, it may be that you have no values on the 1001 batch record.

Otherwise, it could be due to other things.  What are the setting you used in the COA profile with regards to data and specification origins?

Hi Craig,

out batch level is at plant level.

and the settings used on COA profile are as below

1) Result selection level  : Summary

2) Result Origin  : Inspection result

3) inspection spec origin: inspection spec from QM

Thanks,

Sachin

Dear Sachin,

As per my observation, You should follow below points,

1) Create new certificate type and assign in material master for plant 1001

Path: SPRO --> Qaulity Managament --> Quality Certificates --> Certificate profiles --> Define Certificte type

2) Assignment of quality certificate profile. QC15

Assign new certificate type to material, customer, profile, version.

OR

Change the access sequences at plant level and assign the certificate profile at plant level QC15.

Access sequence :SPRO --> Quality Management --> Quality Certificates --> Certificate Profile --> Profile Determination --> Define Access Sequence for Profile Determination

I thin it will resolve your problem.

The issue is that SAP standard FM for results origin and spec origin look for the inspection lot in the plant issuing the COA.  So you must copy the existing FM's for this and change them so that if they do not find a relevant inspection lot in the delivering plant, it looks for an inspection lot for the batch/material in another plant. Usually you would use the batch where used list to decide where to look.

Hi

Please let us know if your product is batch managed or not. If it is batch managed then you just create a certificate profile same as in your parent plant , difference is in case of depot map the characteristic as class characteristic in certificate profile.

In parent plant map your mics with same class characteristics as in depot.

Now your target is flow the batch values from parent plant to depot , for this you can take help of batch derivation.

Otherwise you can go for some developments also.

Please check and confirm your final mapping as same scenario exists in most of the manufacturing organizations.

Mohanty
