Hi All,

We have different systems in our project like development, quality and production. We also have solman as a separate system. My question is what is difference between these(development, quality, production) systems and solman and why do we have separate system for solman?

Apologies if it sounds very basic.

Thanks and Regards,

Vineet

Hi Vineet

SAP Solution Manager is product from SAP which offers multiple capablities for the entire lifecycle management

even for Solution Manager you have

Dev QA and Production so that you can build test and deploy the functionalities for it like the way you do it in ERP or SCM or CRM etc

you can find lot of good stuff here

Solution Manager 7.1 - Solution Manager - SCN Wiki

In addition It is a central system connected to all the upgrade can happen via solution manager as Mopz is mandatory which is the feature of solman to do the upgrade for erp scm crm etc

hope this useful for you and clarifies the doubt

Hello,

Solution manager system is separate solution e.g. ERP is separate solution than CRM solution.

You can use solution manager system for lot of tasks like Technical monitoring, Business Process monitoring, service desk, Charm, download of support package stacks and EWA reports etc.

Thanks,

Sunny

well this is really basic:)

You need 3 systems to follow the best practice for SAP environment and all systems have a different role to play.

Dev - for building new objects like programs, new functions etc ..

QA - for testing, UAT etc..

Prod - for day-to-day business

May be this helps you to understand usage of SolMan system:
