Error during BRRESTORE: dd read error

Dear All,

We are performing DB restore of PRD backup into one of the newly built test server (AIX6.1/Oracle11g/SAP ECC 6.0 EHP5).

Am facing an unusual error while trying to restore database through BRRESTORE method.

"dd read error:Not enough space".

As per the SAP Note 540543 - Composite SAP note: dd errors when calling in BRtools, there seems to be an issue with hardware/tape/driver.

Hardware vendor has looked into this and confirmed that tape is working fine.

Please let me know if any solution/workaround to fix this :|.

Hello

Check if sapdata7 is properly mounted and space available.

Check the permission of the BRTools.

Also try with a different version of BRTools.

Hi Sriram,

In above mentioned link, it refers to "Unable to initialize ASPI manager" which was ignored and proceeded further.

But am facing "dd read error:Not enough space". Sufficient space already present in target system.

Please guide.
