Hello all,
We are trying to apply SP's using SUM in our PI (7.1 ehp1) on windows OS. When starting SUM using the STARTUP.BAT , we are getting the following error.:
E:\usr\sap\SXA\SUM>STARTUP.BAT
SAP directory - E:\usr\sap
Directory of the SAP system JE-E:\usr\sap\JE- does not exist.
E:\usr\sap\SXA\SUM>
There is no directory JE in /user/sa/.
We are using the latest SUM version.
Any Idea?
Thanks for any help
Reza
Hello Reza
Are you starting the SUM from the Command prompt ?

Hi Reza
Ok this sounds good, but it seems there is realy a Problem with the SUM Release that you used before. I often had this Problem with SAP Tools but it's not the first intension to download a new SUM 😉
But Finnaly it was SUM.
Good Luck and Best Regards

Hello Reza
Are you connected to the system using the sidadm user ?
If it shows the error again then manually create the directory and see if that helps.

Hi Reza
System gave you error message for a path that doesn't exists, because SUM is searching there.
The error means "Directory of the SAP-SYSTEM..." so this means SUM see some variable who tells SUM there is a SAP System with JE but your Systems Name is SXA.
Maybe in the Path environment of Windows there is a Path mentioned with this "wrong" JE
I mean in the Variable PATH=
Other Idea is that SAPSYSTEMNAME ist not set correct.
But as mentioned did you get some more information (Detail) in the error message of SUM in the LOG Directory ?
Best Regards

Hello Reagan
it looks like a environment variable is not set correct , because if a directory not exists that SUM expected it comes to a error.
First Time the STARTUP.BAT should work, later you can start the Sum with
Gui: DSUGui.bat for the Gui and DSUService.bat for the Server Part.
Maybe you found some wrong Path in your Windows Environment.
If you have more Log Files to this error it should be possible to figure out the Problem,
Best Regards
Markus
