Question: SAPConsole

Hi, my customer is considering to use handy terminal with SAPConsole.

Also, they want to use Windows telnet server to integrate between SAP ERP and handy terminal.

According as note#1043241, Windows telnet server is not described as supported telnet server.

Is this requirement available?

Is there any customer case which uses Windows telnet server for SAPConsole?

Any information will be appreciated.

Thank you and kind regards.

Mizuka.

As far as I know, Windows provides a telnet service which allow to
communicate with another computer using the Telnet protocol.
But this is not a Telnet server

The note 1043241 provides the answer:

                             ***************
SAPConsole itself does not determine the types of escape sequence used.
We recommend that you use a telnet server that supports VT220, as
opposed to VT100, since the latter does not have sufficient functions to
meet customer needs. For example, VT100 does not support all the
function keys on a keyboard.

Available telnet servers that were tested with SAPConsole:

    o  SLNet from SeattleLab - http://www.seattlelab.com

    o  GS_Tnet from Georgia SoftWorks - http://www.georgiasoftworks.com

    o  PragmaTelnetServer from Pragma Systems - http://www.pragmasys.com

The telnet server must be installed on the same server as SAPConsole.
For information about installing a telnet server, see the installation
guide and/or the user guide for the telnet server.

Hope this helps.
