Hi Experts,
I have a query regarding the ALE/EDI config:
>for IDOC why we are doing separate ALE/EDI config?(where as,for other type of communication we are doing configuration within the comm.. channel itself)
Regards,
Rasmiraj Tripathy.
Hi Raj - If you understand the PI architecture that would have answered your question.
IDOC adapter resides on the Integration engine(ABAP stack) not on the java stack and for the same reason you configure RFC destinations/partner profiles/logical ports..
Rest of the adapters resides on adapter engine(Java stack) and hence configuration of communication channels..

Hi,
For idoc also we have channel configuration. i am talking about receiver channel in pi~7.1,7.0.
what ever configuration you do in channel is for sending the message to receiver. once it reaches receiver what needs to be done is taken care by ALE/EDI configuration. still there are many things beyond this.

Muni.

Hi Ramiraj,
If you want to use IDOC communication first of all you would need to know what is your PI version because the configuration could be change in the PI side and the adapter can be different, IDOC adapter (ABAP stuck) or IDOC_AAE (java stuck).
For the PI java single installation you can follow this Harald Bitzer's blog
